A reminder to all homeowners:

Please leashed your dog(s) at all times. This is listed in St. John the Baptist Parish Code of Ordinance, see below.

Sec. 6-114. - Roaming at large.

(a) Prohibited. No dog shall be permitted to run at large upon any road, street, or other public place, or trespass upon any premises other than the premises of the owner, within the parish unless it is muzzled or held under leash and accompanied by its owner or keeper.

(b) Owner's liability. In addition to the fees and charges to be paid to the animal shelter for the release of any impounded dog, any owner who has deliberately permitted his licensed or unlicensed dog to roam at large may be found guilty of a violation of this article and shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in this article.
